“These pictures were taken during a rare period of unbelievable tolerance, probably as an anticlimax after the horrors of a world conflict.
The photographer was a French Doctor who worked near the beach in Cannes during the mid 1950’s. For the enjoyment of the reader, daytime scenes alternate with furtive nightly meetings. We have deliberately refrained from indicating which characters meet more than once. Any resemblance to famous actors attending the Film Festival should be purely coincidental”. Tom Bruce
